Rambouillet

ORIGIN: The breed originated in the late 1700s when the Last King of France purchased over 300 Spanish Merinos from his cousin Charles III of Spain, raising them at his domain of Rambouillet, without selling a single sheep for years.

FACT: A full grown Rambouillet ram can weigh between 200 and 300 pounds, while the ewes will remain 140 and 180 pounds.
